Visit of delegation from Islamic Thought Council

 

 

 

The Chairman of DICID  Dr. Ibrahim Saleh Annaimi met, on 7 November 2016, Mawlana Muhammad Khan Chirani, chairman of Islamic Thought Council, and member of Pakistani Parliament, as well as member of Muslim Scholars Organization.

 

Dr. Ibrahim welcomed  the guests  who said  very happy to  visit the DICID, during their short trip to  Qatar, pointing out the important role of DICID  in spreading  the reel   ethic values  inspired from  Islamic traditions, as well as  promoting  the culture of dialogue and tolerance,  between different faiths to  achieve a peaceful coexistence  among its followers. The delegation has also praised the efforts of the DICID in strengthening the constructive dialogue   between local communities.

The discussions focused on diverse common issues, including the topics such as peace and security in Islamic tradition, stating that the peace value is a precondition to implement the noble mission of the Succession which  Allah the Almighty Entrusted to man . In this regard, the 12th DICID conference addressed the topic on “spiritual and intellectual security  in the light of religious teachings”.

From his side, Cheikh Muhammad Khan Chirani, explained that the  dissensions  are  in fact not due to  religious teachings but to its misunderstanding and malpractice.

In this point, Dr. Ibrahim pointed out  that  there are still  moderate intellectuals and scholars  among  all religious tradition followers, and the DICID  thinks  that we should  strive to open channels  of communication and cooperation  with them. He also mentioned the Conference held in Pakistan , in  November  2015 , on  the topic  of peaceful  coexistence  among  religious beliefs, where DICID was represented by Mr. Muhammad Alghamidi, the  DICID  Boards of Directors member.

The   Meeting was also Attended by Dr. Hafez ikram-alhaq  and  Cheikh  Ali  Muhammad Abu-turab, as members  of Islamic Thought Council . Dr. Hafez, from his side, praised the role of Pakistani ministry of Islamic Affairs that is striving to spread the culture of peace and calling for tolerance among Pakistani society components. To realize this goal, it was established, within the Ministry, the Dialogue Centre. Dr. Hafez has also indicated that Pakistan is a multi cultural faith society composed of a number of religious minorities such as Indus, Sikhs, Buddhist s and Zoroastrians.

Then Dr. Ibrahim gave a short presentation of DICID activities including the Conferences, the Round-table, the Publications, and other activities.

Finally shields were exchanged between two sides .
