11 Oct DICID Welcomes Malaysian Ambassador
Dr. Prof. Ibrahim Al-Naimi, the Chairman of DICID received HE Mr. Ahmad Jazri Mohd Johar, Malaysian Ambassador to Qatar. The meeting was attended by Mr. Hamdi Blekich, head of Public Relations and Mrs. Nadia Al-Ashqar, Conference Coordinator Officer.
His Excellency Mr. Johar exchanged views and opinions on a wide variety of issues with Dr. Al-Naimi, and co-operation between the two countries and interfaith issues were reviewed during the visit.
The guests also discussed future possible opportunities for interfaith activities and ways that both countries can work together in an attempt to bridge cultural gaps between not only Western and Islamic countries, but also the gaps between the Asia nations.
HE Mr. Johar said that the Malaysian Embassy supports the DICID on its path to becoming a leading international center in interfaith dialogue.
HE Mr. Johar also stressed Malaysian’s activity in interfaith dialogue and the interfaith conference “Muslims and West”, which was held three times in Kuala Lumpur.
During the visit, Prof. Ibrahim Al-Naimi invited also HE Mr. Johar to attend the 9th Doha Conference of Interfaith Dialogue, hoping that his participation will be excellent addition to the conference program.
