23 Sep DICID Sponsors 12 Cities Network Project

12 cities Network invites those who want to be Europeans citizens to join the network and enjoy the same opportunities and rights as anyone else. This is not a problem for Muslims alone; it affects everyone. The cancer of Islamophobia has to be eradicated, otherwise it will spread. So this website announces a new movement: http://www.12citiesnetwork.org/

This movement is strongly supported by DICID which is a partner in this noble and brave effort against Islamophobia in the heart of European cities.

The 12 Cities Network will run a campaign in 2013 called Kick Islamophobia. Kick Islamophobia aims to bring together existing projects from cities across Europe, which are addressing the issue of Islamophobia.

In September 2013, The 12 Cities Network will hold a Kick Islamophobia gathering in Cologne, Germany. This gathering will bring together the existing projects from across Europe, and many other groups of individuals working to combat Islamophobia.

The Kick Islamophobia 2013 event is to provide the opportunity for a reflective and safe space where campaigners are able to come together for meaningful dialogue around Islamophobia.

Objectives:
– Teach others the problems around Islamophobia in various countries.
– Celebrate and showcase the good work that each country is doing around tackling the issue of Islamophobia.
– Support the development of participants through sharing best practice, learning and developing by holding training and workshops sessions.
– The 12 cities will collectively look towards future development of Kick Islamophobia campaign.
