09 Jan DICID organized a training workshop on Dialogue skills for school girls

The Doha International Center for Interfaith Dialogue organized the third training course on dialogue skills for female students attended by 37 female students from 13 schools. The training workshop was hosted by Amna Bent Wahab Secondary School for Girls.

The workshop was attended by Prof. Dr. Badran Masoud Al-Hassan, Professor of Comparative religious Studies at the College of Islamic Studies, in Hamad Bin Khalifa University, and the Mrs. Fatima Abdulaziz Al-Harami, a Qatari certified trainer. At the end of the course DICID honored female students and the 15 teachers.
For his part, Dr. Ibrahim Bin Saleh Al-Naimi, Chairman of the Doha International Center for Interfaith Dialogue, stressed that these training workshop, among DICID priorities. The students have certainly benefited of such courses which aim to spread the culture of dialogue and religious tolerance with the other party in the school environment in accordance with Islamic culture and civilizationwhile respecting faith and culture differences. It’s a good opportunity interfaith dialogue.

“The courses aim to educate young people about the need to respect other religions and how to deal with their followers and to open up to other peoples without abandoning their Islamic religious identity, ” said Mrs. Nadia Ashkar. Responsible of Conferences at DICID. She added that such courses achieves a set of objectives, which include: spreading the culture of dialogue in the school environment, training students to interact with others, accepting differences of opinion, developing students’ talents and abilities in thinking and creativity, To spread the culture of dialogue in society.

During the workshop, Dr. Badran Al-Hasan focused on the definition of the term “ religion”, commonalities and differences between main religions, the role of Dialogue in the interfaith relations. He stressed that Islam behave and position with beliefs and traditions , based on based on certainty and truth, and coexistence, and mutual respect.

Dr. Badran Al-Hasan added that the common denominator among all religions is the great human values, and the social existence in which we build acquaintance, cooperation and compassion (O mankind, indeed We have created you from male and female and made you peoples and tribes that you may know one another. Indeed, the most noble of you in the sight of Allah is the most righteous of you. Indeed, Allah is Knowing and Acquainted(.Al-HUJURAT [49: 13]

In addition the training workshop was attended by Fatima Al-Haremi, trainer in planning and leadership, and addressed the topic on training of qualified people on dialogue skills, through the example in the field the social relations , the role played in the matter from different social component such as individual and community and society and the nation .

Al-Harami added that there is a steady relationship between the individual’s spiritual relationship and the distinct collective relationship.
