The DICID has organized a Seminar on the them problematic of the Arab and Islamic advancement”, on the sidelines of the Doha international Book Fair presented by Prof. Yusuf Siddiqi, DICID’s member of the Board of Directors and the Dean of the Faculty of Islamic Studies at Qatar University. The seminar was attended by University professors, academics, students and the general public
At the beginning of his talk, Dr. Yusuf Siddiqi pointed out that the Islamic world is experiencing a troubled period that might evolve to the blast, or at least to a persistent deadlock. This situation is due to many reasons, some of which began in the seventies of the last century, and stated that the bitter war of June 67 has an influential role in the Muslim world crisis, which caused the break of the Arab conscience, and embodied the refraction of many national and nationalist political projects.

And also of the reasons for this crisis the emergence of an insatiable consumption, in our communities, far from the Muslim world and the real needs of the Arab people, and it became a concern with appearances, shapes often over substance, and the self, and needs objectivity.

One of the reasons as was said. Siddiqi tighten the grip of dictatorships, and exacerbation of political tyranny at the expense of freedoms, as the researcher believes that the spread of immoral things in our communities at the elite level, or the public. The lecturer noted to the sectarian conflicts, of the most serious causes of crisis at the moment, and that this conflict represents a major catastrophe, and said that the Western powers had hired these ideological differences, currently in conflict actually between Sunnis and Shiites, which persisted even included many Islamic and Arab countries.

The researcher said that the reasons for non-advancement, the large number of political parties, religious parties, which sects and parties Nations dispersed, although the Islamic religion and clear as it should be Muslims, which is selling out to the Islamic nation.

He also pointed out the reasons that prevent the advancement of import Western ideologies, and they entered in the structure of the Arab and Islamic thought, the attempt to impute it to Islam, such as ideologies related to the liberalism and pragmatism , globalization and modernism, and postmodernism. Be understood in the historical and societal context in which they appeared, namely, is not necessarily valid for all communities and in all circumstances.

Dr. Yusuf Siddiqi said that the Arab and Muslim world renaissance need to these conditions :

First, the political system adopts the Renaissance project and continues its details, and the most important details of education, which should be the focus of primary interest for the advancement of any nation want.

And second factors of the Renaissance, focusing on industries and minds, must also believe that Renaissance is an internal affair of any society. We cannot really develop our nation by imitating others.

The renaissance of our nation depend on the following: leaving the luxuries, and the need to reform the social problems of factors, and running behind the appearances, taking into account the importance of the work to establish the principles of justice, democracy and freedom in Islamic societies as the advancement of the main factors.
