Dr. Ibrahim Annaimi , Chairman of DICID , met the Australian Ambassador in Doha, H.E Dr. Axel Wabenhorst . The meeting focused on ways of cooperation between Doha International Center for Interfaith Dialogue and Australian Research Centers, universities, interested in dialogue between religions and cultures.

For his part, the ambassador praised the efforts and activities of the Centre and it seek for building bridges through ongoing dialogues with various stakeholders, to achieve a peaceful coexistence between religions, joint and effective cooperation between the followers of religions to contribute to the humanization of our troubled relations nowadays.

The Chairman stressed the willingness of the center to open channels of cooperation with all parties interested in working together.

He explained that the DICID main aim is to strengthening a culture of constructive social dialogue, that can enable to build bridges of understanding and acceptance of the other, across the social spectrums, leading to a human partnership, based on moral values and human brotherhood, across cultural and religious diversity, to develop common culture founded on tolerance and peaceful coexistence, mutual respect and co-existence.

With regard to the earliest Islamic presence, the Australian Ambassador revealed that the first mosque was built in 1880, and noted that Australia is has been always opened for all religions, stating the Islamic veil called Burka, was first designed by an Australian Muslim woman, that shows cultural and religious diversity in Australia.

It is worth mentioning that the Monash University of Australia is under the process of establishing a center for interfaith dialogue, that will give the Australian side to set up a fruitful cooperation with the Doha International Center for Interfaith Dialogue, through the ongoing cooperation between DICID and the various parties around the world, to entrench the principle of religious dialogue, and humanize the inter- cultural relations , in a world misunderstanding and intolerance.
Doha International Center has prepared for Interfaith Dialogue purpose , a busy schedule of activities and events during the current year, including from local events, and international as well.

The DICID welcomes all public, including researchers, students, and workers of all faiths, in his headquarter located at the southern part of Medina Khalifa .
