05 Jun DICID condemns and strongly rejects the offensive remarks made by Indian politician Navin Kumar Jindal, the media officer of the Bharatiya Janata Party in Delhi, against Prophet Muhammad, peace be upon him, and Mrs. Aisha bint Abubakr, “Mother of the Faithful,” may God be pleased with her

Doha International Center for Interfaith Dialog strongly condemns the remarks made by Indian politician Navin Kumar Jindal, the media officer of the Bharatiya Janata Party in Delhi, against Prophet Muhammad, peace be upon him, and Mrs. Aisha bint Abubakr, the “Mother of the Faithful.

The center again emphasizes the complete condemnation of such statements which are a clear insult to our beloved Prophet by mocking the marriage of Prophet Muhammad with his wife Aisha, may God be pleased with her. Therefore, the statement cannot be considered as a question to be answered but is obviously an insult to all Muslims in India and all over the world.

Moreover, this type of offensive statement aims to incite hate speech and call for disrespect for religions and contempt for religious symbols and sanctities. It is a continuation of the series of aggression, violence, and racism against Muslims in India and other countries in the name of: “freedom of expression”. DICID believes that this violence must be confronted, with all those behind it, regardless of their reputation or position.

Doha International Center for Interfaith Dialogue has been working for coexistence for years, taking the responsibility for dialog on its shoulders, calling for mutual respect among followers of the world’s religious traditions, and promoting peace and acceptance. Therefore, it is quite normal to warn against the negative effects of such a statement, because this attitude not only damages our massive positive achievements in peace-making and combating racism and terrorism over the years, but also sets them back and provides extremists and terrorists with a false justification to incite hate speech and act according to that justification.

Last but not least, Doha International Center for Interfaith Dialogue calls on all interfaith dialogue centers and all concerned civil societies to condemn all kinds of offensive practices and aggression against Islam and Muslims and to stand together when it comes to such terrible behaviors.
