The Doha International Center for Interfaith Dialogue condemns the violence and displacement of the Muslim minority by the local authorities in the Indian state of Assam, which has resulted in dozens of deaths, assaults and injuries. This was after the Indian authorities issued a decision to displace thousands of Muslims in the state of Assam, and to evict the homes of hundreds of families under the pretext that they were built on state-owned land.

The Doha International Center for Interfaith Dialogue reiterates the total rejection of systematic racist and sectarian acts that result in brutalities toward the Muslim minorities in India. It is a clear infringement of human dignity by parties and authorities that have persisted in violating the rights of minorities, violating international human rights laws, and attacking the principles of humanity and the values of all religions.

We, at the Doha International Center for Interfaith Dialogue, call on religious scholars of the world of all religions and sects to stand united and declare a clear humanitarian position in confronting and condemning these sectarian practices. We also call on the responsible authorities in all countries to protect the innocent, regardless of their religious affiliation, and fulfill its role, entrusted with protecting religious minorities and their places of worship. We also call for urgent appeals to actors in international politics, echoing our collective voices in one language that exalts the value of truth, justice, equality and human rights.
