Within the framework of enhancing the active role of youth in building societies, capabilities, and highlighting the value of volunteer work and giving among them, the Doha International Center for Interfaith Dialogue, in cooperation with The Scout and Guide Association of Qatar, organized an online training course on ‘Volunteering and Giving’, which was presented by the certified trainer, A. Fatima Abdulaziz Al-Harami. The two-hour training program, was attended by more than 50 young men and women trainees and dealt with various topics related to volunteer work, such as: enhancing the ability of an effective volunteer, accepting others with different cultures and religions, as well as rooting the culture of give and take and mutual exchange, as well as guidance on how to lead volunteer projects.

This course is the sixth training course held by the Doha International Center for Interfaith Dialogue through its community participation for training the youth and school students.

On the importance of these training courses, Dr. Ibrahim bin Saleh Al Naimi, Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Doha International Center for Interfaith Dialogue and Chairman of The Scout and Guide Association of Qatar, said: “The training courses come as one of the fruits of joint cooperation between the Doha International Center for Interfaith Dialogue and The Scout and Guide Association of Qatar, and these courses come at the top of the list.

The priorities of the Doha International Center for Interfaith Dialogue, which aim to train young people on volunteering skills among others of diverse cultures and affiliations, and to develop young people’s abilities and personal, scientific and practical skills. This is in addition to providing the opportunity for volunteers to express their opinions and ideas in various volunteer projects, and to acquire leadership skills for volunteer projects.

Concerning this training course, Nadia Al-Ashqar, Coordinator of Conferences and Events at the Doha International Center for Interfaith Dialogue said: “This training course is the second collaboration between the Doha International Center for Interfaith Dialogue and The Scout and Guide Association of Qatar in holding seminars and training courses on religious dialogue, its importance and principles. As for this session, we devoted it to volunteer work because of the importance of this topic and the close connection between the activity of the association and the center and the community services they provide to the community.

It is worth noting that the Doha International Center for Interfaith Dialogue in the State of Qatar is an international center concerned with spreading the culture of interfaith dialogue, building bridges of cooperation and understanding between followers of religions, cultures and civilizations around the world, building capacities in the field of dialogue, a culture of peace and acceptance of the other, and activating religious values to address issues and problems of concern to humanity, addressing the aspects of life that interact with religion, to build a society based on mutual respect and coexistence in harmony and togetherness, regardless of religion, culture and race.

The Scout and Guide Association of Qatar is a body with legal authority and a member of the World Organization of the Scout Movement, supervising the scouting movement in Qatar. It was created by the founder of the Scout Movement on the principles: Duty to God, Duty to Others, and Duty to Self.
