Visit of Paraguay Ambassador
The Ambassador of Paraguay, Mr. Ángel Barchini, and his deputy, Mr. José Agüero Avila, visited the DICID on Sunday 16th October and met with the Chairman, Dr. Ibrahim bin Saleh Al-Naimi. The meeting focused on the various aspects of cultural and scientific cooperation between the Doha International Center for Interfaith Dialogue and institutions in the Republic of Paraguay.
The ambassador suggested that a delegation from the DICID visit Paraguay in order to discover the country and its cultural, scientific, and tourist potential. The two parties agreed that the invitation will be sent through the official channel.
Dr. Al-Naimi welcomed the initiative of the ambassador and emphasized the Center’s willingness to open cooperation with all relevant channels in order to establish and spread a culture of peace and coexistence among cultures and civilizations, and to reject extremism and violence.
Likewise, the ambassador praised the distinguished relations between Qatar and his country in all areas. He also congratulated the DICID for its outstanding performance in all its different activities, including the annual conference of the Center, which was attended last year by representatives from Paraguay. The Ambassador expressed his hope that the relevant institutions in his country would benefit from DICID’s rich experience in the field of inter-religious dialogue.
The meeting concluded with a brief presentation by Dr. Al-Naimi about the Center’s activities.
