The  Pastor  of the Word of Life Church in Sweden visited  

the  Doha International Center for Interfaith Dialogue

 

On Monday, 3/1/2017, Dr. Ibrahim bin Saleh Al Nuaimi, DICID Chairman  has received  the Rev. Dr. Eddy  Herreborg,  Word of Life Church Pastor in Sweden, and the Scandinavian Arab Association for interfaith dialogue Chairman.

After welcoming to the Pastor, Dr. Ibrahim gave a brief presentation of the DICID activities, which includes annual conferences Roundtables discussions for local communities, in addition of various publications, such as the scholarly  magazine Adyan/Religions, as well as seminars and training courses to enhance capacity and skills in the field of dialogue.

For his part, the Pastor Eddy  Herreborg, expressed his delight with this visit, and said that it was a good opportunity of  starting a cooperation between the Doha International Center for Interfaith Dialogue and  the Arab Society Scandinavian Interfaith Dialogue leaded by the Pastor himself.

It is worth mentioning that the pastor Eddy  Herrebor , Lebanese origin, is  an architect, and also  holds a degree in theology. He is working   for the Church of the Word of life since 2006.

Trough his effort for setting up  a cooperation focused on the Arab world in the Scandinavian region,  he established  in 2007 the  Arab Scandinavian society for interfaith dialogue, which provided   various  activities for Arab  migrants,  such as including homes, patients, hospitals and prison visits, and help for new immigrants.

The meeting has focused on the conditions of Arabs living in Sweden and particularly Muslims, and the role that the Scandinavian Arab society for Interfaith Dialogue, can play for assisting   Arab refugees. For his part, Eddy Herreborg, stated that  due to the current crisis of  xenophobia, the atmosphere of the islamophobia, in the  European countries,  and the Sweden in particular,  it is our duty to  do whatever we can  to correct the stereotypes about Arab communities in the west, and in the Scandinavian countries in particular, that what my organization are trying to do.

At the end of the meeting, Dr. Al-Naimi stressed that the Doha International Center for Interfaith Dialogue, is ready to open channels of cooperation with all parties interested in working together to serve humanity, and promote a dialogue culture between different religions and cultures all over the world.
